Let's Protect Ourselves, Our Families, & World by Aiming at All Our "Highest Civic Ideals"

• Together: Let's face stark reality. Our world is in trouble. Everyone is at risk, and we are in a race with time. Climate Change is happening fast, and events could easily spin out of control. Nuclear Winter — 100% unacceptable! — IS STILL quite possible after 80 years in the Nuclear Age. We are tempting Murphy's Law (which by logic, will eventually prevail.) Cyber mischief, unethical behavior, and even systematic or accidental violence threaten everyone. Many, if not most people are not happy with even their own personal and professional relationships. Given this complex predicament, Cooperative Universal Values Education will help a lot. With shared values, people everywhere can better transcend outdated "isms" and pull together in greater harmony. This is essential to tip the balance toward more safety, economy, sustainability, and happiness, for all of good will and integrity.
• Perfection is not our goal. That would be unrealistic. But declaring, educating for, and promoting the pure principles and values that STAR ALLIANCE represents is a brilliant, catalytic strategy. It will create a critical shift towards greater truthfulness and "Communication, Cooperation, & Celebration" for a safer, more ideal world for all.
• The themes that STAR ALLIANCE has created over the years — including Good Will Values Education  and Star Citizenships™  (i.e., balanced application of all our Highest Civic Ideals™) — are social innovations that will bring humanity together much more quickly — ONCE they are widely promoted and officially adopted.
• We are currently engaged in behind-the-scenes catchup and infrastructure-building, preliminary to major outreach efforts from locality to globe..
• It stands to reason that values, once internalized, influence virtually all present and future behavior. That's what values ARE, after all: Guides to behavior and choices that each individual decision-maker holds valuable! To effect positive change, it makes best sense to focus on improving positive values right at the roots of society: individuals everywhere. The STAR ALLIANCE value documents have been carefully crafted to do just that. They have also been endorsed by many accomplished people along the way. [Please see "People" section on this site.]
• Secondly, consider our track record of major catalytic achievements. The Original STAR ALLIANCE presaged the sudden, unexpected end of the Cold War. We began declaring peace ideals in late 1985, before anyone thought such a major turnaround was possible. We collected famous signatures from 1986, and wrote world leaders Reagan and Gorbachev before every summit meeting during those "turning point" years! Backed by the distinguished philanthropist, Ms. Jane Newhall of San Francisco, we maintained dignified, economy offices on Market Street, produced cable-access TV and radio shows weekly from 1987 to 1990, and established the "STAR OF PEACE" Award.
• In 1996, when mainland China was firing rockets over Taiwan, we wrote an influential, calming Policy Advisory to the leaders of China. We suggested they redirect their attention to investing in electronic and other infrastructures for the future. Literally within days, a remarkable turnaround was publicly reported. • In September of 2017, our thoughtful Policy Advisory to the leader of the DPRK (North Korea) was copied to President Trump. This was followed by a dramatic unexpected warming of relations. The change made everyone safer for a time. As before, ours was not the only factor. Nor did we receive any direct recognition. But the public benefit was huge. Time has eroded the initial results, and much more needs to be done. Yet this work is highly efficient and effective when followed up ethically on all sides.
• Meanwhile, enormous public financial resources and logistical capacities are spent on extremely painful conflicts throughout the world. A change is desperately needed actually to solve the underlying conditions that cause these conflicts; to redirect resources and capacities to meeting basic human needs first, including the collective arrest of Climate Change.
